Grass Valley man in critical condition after being hit by car

A Grass Valley man remains in critical condition Friday after he was hit by a car when crossing an intersection. Around 4:30 p.m. Thursday, Thomas Shea, 63, was reportedly crossing contrary to a pedestrian signal on Tinloy Street near the Highway 49 ramps when he was struck by a southbound Nissan Infiniti that was proceeding through a green light, according to a Grass Valley Police Department investigation of witnesses. “The pedestrian crossing had the red “Do not cross” sign illuminated,” said Sgt. Steve Johnson. Shea was subsequently transported by helicopter to Sutter Roseville Hospital and is still listed in critical …
