NU opens SFL with blowout win

Nevada Union’s girls basketball squad started off Sierra Foothill League play on the right foot Friday, taking down Woodcreek, 66-46. The Miners jumped out to a 22-6 first-quarter lead and had 10 different players score as they cruised to a 20-point victory. NU’s speedy guard Sydney Porter scored nine of her team-high 13 points in the first quarter, and senior Nicole Lierly added 11 points in the victory.
