Crowd rallies against library outsourcing

A large crowd protested the possibility of outsourcing Nevada County library management Tuesday morning in a festive, yet determined way.About 100 protesters assembled in front of the Rood Center then packed the Board of Supervisors meeting with signs that read, "Local control, local accountability" and "Carnegie is crying," among others."This is the foundation of democracy," protester Mark Sherwood said of the libraries. "It's not for sale or rent."The board listened to about 20 minutes of comments on the matter, but could not comment by state law because the topic was not on the agenda.Board Chairman Hank Weston said the board …
