Sierra Presbyterian Church

Intrigue, drama, romance, and conflict are all part of the mix coming to Nevada County in September in the The Story book and discussion groups. Telling the narrative of the Bible in chronological order and in 21st century print and language, the The Story is all about God’s great love for humanity. Thirty-one chapters in hard-back format include stories, poems, and teachings and read like a novel. The book will give non-believers insight into the Bible that Christians claim as the basis for their faith. For Christians, The Story ties together familiar passages and the unfolding progression of God’s plan.

Weekly gatherings throughout the county to discuss the ideas in each chapter are being planned; some as book clubs and some as Bible study groups. Book club groups will meet Tuesday evenings at Sierra Presbyterian Church with a simultaneous children’s program, and at Eskaton Lodge Monday afternoons. Bible study groups will gather at various times in private homes. Participants in both style groups will read one chapter a week.

The Story has been presented throughout the United States by many different denominational churches. In Nevada County, Sierra Presbyterian Church is the sponsor.
