Police blotter: Remote control attack prompts 911 call


Grass Valley Police Department

Friday

9:56 a.m. — A caller from the 400 block of South Auburn Street reported finding drugs.

11:05 a.m. — A caller reported an assault from a year ago.

12:07 p.m. — A caller from the 500 block of East Main Street reported the theft of hubcaps and gas.

12:07 p.m. — A caller from the 900 block of Plaza Drive reported two people and a diogsleeping in a dumpster; they were gone when officers arrived.

2:24 p.m. — A caller from the 200 block of Bank Street reported a physical fight with on person pulling a knife; they said they were playing.

3:09 p.m. — A caller from the 100 block of West McKnight Way reported a shoplifter in custody, who tried to steal wallets, tights, slacks and blouses. The woman was cited.

3:41 p.m. — A man from the 1400 block of Segsworth Way reported the theft of embezzlement of a vehicle.

4:08 p.m. — A caller from the 400 block of Central Avenue reported a very drunken woman holding an infant and then dropping it. She was arrested on suspicion of child endangerment.

4:14 p.m. — A caller from the 900 block of McCourtney Road reported a transient camping on private property.

5:25 p.m. — A caller from the 600 block of South Auburn Street reported people yelling, pushing little kids into cars and throwing money around. They could not be located.

8:40 p.m. — A caller from Sutton Way reported four people possibly casing cars; they could not be located.

9:37 p.m. — A caller from the 400 block of Central Avenue reported a stolen vehicle.

10:51 p.m. — A caller from the 400 block of Henderson Street reported a dirt bike rider with blood on his face who left the area.

12:59 a.m. — A caller from the 1000 block of Sutton Way reported a theft.

9:05 a.m. — A caller reported elder abuse.

12:50 p.m. — A caller from Old Tunnel and Town Talk roads reported a woman driving the wrong way who then went off the road.

1:57 p.m. — A caller from the 100 block of West McKnight Way reported a woman throwing items around; she could not be located.

4:10 p.m. — A caller from the 2000 block of Nevada City Highway reported a man threatened to assault him. The man was arrested on suspicion of fighting in a public place and resisting arrest.

5:41 p.m. — A woman from the 600 block of Freeman Lane reported her purse was stolen from a grocery cart.

9:14 p.m. — A caller from the 200 block of West Main Street reported a man refusing to pay his bar tab and trying to take money from other customers; he then left.

10:03 p.m. — A caller from the 300 block of Bennett Street reported a fight between a man and a woman.

10:33 p.m. — A caller from the 100 block of East Berryhill Drive reported a man was driving by and throwing rocks at an apartment.

10:58 p.m. — A caller from Plaza Drive reported a man passed out on the lawn, who was arrested on suspicion of being drunk in public.

Sunday

10:22 a.m. — A caller from the emergency room reported a person had been assaulted at Condon Park three days earlier; the victim did not want contact.

3:04 p.m. — A caller from the 2000 block of Nevada City Highway reported a man came into a business, pushed one woman and grabbed another. He was arrested on suspicion of violating a restraining order and being under the influence of a controlled substance.

6:31 p.m. — A caller from the 100 block of West McKnight Way reported a person tried to steal a watch; the person was arrested on unknown charges.

10:29 p.m. — A man from Empire Court reported a woman grabbed him by the ear and made it bleed.

10:43 p.m. — A caller from the 2000 block of Nevada City Highway reported a person tried to steal food and left.

11:04 p.m. — A caller from the hospital reported an assault victim, who did not want contact.

Monday

4:32 a.m. — A man from Lidster Avenue reported his neighbor’s sprinkler goes off at 4:30 a.m. and hits his fence, disturbing his peace.

9:41 a.m. — A caller from the fairgrounds reported a physical fight involving juveniles. One was evaluated and released by mental health.

11:08 a.m. — A caller from the 11000 block of Ball Road reported quads racing up and down the road, with the riders not wearing helmets.

11:55 a.m. — A caller from the 11000 block of La Barr Meadows Road reported a pile of landscape material on fire at a business.

12:11 p.m. — A caller from Scotts Flat Lake reported a service dog had been atatcked by a pit bull and was beign taken for treatment.

3:56 p.m. — A caller from the 10000 block of Kearney Court reported the tires of a vehicle had been slashed.

4:26 p.m. — A caller from Lake Wildwood and Sun Forest drives reported a dispute involving about 40 people; the situation was mediated.

5:53 p.m. — A caller from Round Valley Road and Norlene Way reported a travel trailer on fire.

5:59 p.m. — A caller from Madrone Forest Drive and Idaho-Maryland Road reported several gunshots.

8:24 p.m. — A man from the 11000 block of McCourtney Road reported a woman flushed his medication down the toilet. She said he was very drunk and threatening her.

11:11 p.m. — A caller from Robin Street reported someone vandalized a fence; no charges were desired.

7:30 a.m. — A caller from the 17000 block of Silver Pine Drive reported two abandoned cats.

10:24 a.m. — A caller from North Pine Street reported a theft.

4:51 p.m. — A caller from Helling Way reported a man broke a display, then nearly hit a pedestrian and ran a stop sign when leaving.

7:26 p.m. — A caller from Sacramento Street reported two juveniles and a camp fire at the river; the fire was extinguished.

11:30 p.m. — A caller from Broad Street reported a fight.

11:54 p.m. — A caller from Cottage Street reported a vehicle burglary in progress. A woman was arrested on suspicion of being drunk in public.

Saturday

12:08 a.m. — A woman from Broad Street reported she was punched in the face; she did not want charges.

9:21 a.m. — A caller from Broad Street reported a person ripped a no-parking sign off a street sign and stuck it on his business.

9:50 a.m. — A caller from Searls Avenue reported a man hitting a woman in the head with his fist. A woman was arrested on suspicion of spousal abuse.

12:06 p.m. — A caller from North Pine Street reported a juvenile hit his father.

6:36 p.m. — A caller from Zion Street reported a man and a woman in a physical fight. A person was arrested on suspicion of battery.

Sunday

1:38 a.m. — A caller from Sacramento Street and Searls Avenue reported people who had been trying to break into a house were following them with a gun. A man was arrested on warrants.

3:11 p.m. — A caller from Mine Rock Road reported his roommate hit him on the head with the TV remote several times. The parties were separated.

Monday

12:58 a.m. — A woman from Commercial Street reported two women slammed her head into the sidewalk.
