Police blotter: Dead smell was just a deer


Grass Valley Police Department

Thursday

1:03 p.m. — A caller from Richardson and North Auburn streets reported graffiti on a power pole.

1:36 p.m. — A caller from the 600 block of Freeman Lane reported a dog fight.

2:35 p.m. — A caller from Elisabeth Daniels Park reported people drinking alcohol and doing drugs; they were moving on.

2:45 p.m. — A caller from the post office reported the theft of a $900 money order and an ID.

2:56 p.m. — A caller from the 300 block of South Church Street reported trespassing, theft and vandalism to a vehicle.

4:43 p.m. — A caller from the 100 block of Neal Street reported a drunken girl tried to steal three bottles of alcohol, then left without her purse. No charges were desired.

4:47 p.m. — A caller reported possible child abuse.

5:17 p.m. — A caller from the 100 block of Rockwood Drive reported the theft of an iPad.

7:29 p.m. — A caller from the 600 block of South Auburn Street reported a person put a chair up to a back window.

8:02 p.m. — A caller from the 100 block of Huntington Court reported the theft of a laptop and an iPod touch.

10 p.m. — A caller from South Auburn Street and Badger Lane reported people setting off illegal fireworks.

11:40 p.m. — A caller from the 1000 block of Sutton Way reported a man who had been barred from a store was trying to enter. At 2:19 a.m., he was outside and acting strange. He was arrested on suspicion of trespassing.

8:05 a.m. — A caller from the 12000 block of Allison Ranch Road reported an assault.

8:58 p.m. — A caller from the 11000 block of John Muir Lane reported possible animal cruelty to a dog.

9:03 a.m. — A man from the 13000 block of Little Bear Lane reported a woman hit and pushed him, and was screaming and throwing his belongings. The situation was mediated.

9:15 a.m. — A caller from the 15000 block of Cascade Loop reported trespassing.

9:39 a.m. — A caller from the 12000 block of Hallwood Place reported construction workers using an easement and possible drug activity.

10:23 a.m. — A caller from the 15000 block of Wolf Mountain Road reported a burglary to a storage container.

11:42 a.m. — A caller from the 23000 block of Woodhaven Place reported a dog attack.

11:42 a.m. — A caller from the 23000 block of Perimeter Road reported a dog attack.

12:55 p.m. — A man from the 16000 block of Patricia Way reported a man pushed him and hit him in the face.

1:06 p.m. — A man from the 10000 block of Ridge Road reported parts of his vehicle were stolen; he was referred to the Highway patrol.

1:24 p.m. — A woman from the 11000 block of Butler Road reported her neighbors dogs had attacked her dogs.

2 p.m. — A caller from the 13000 block of Wings of Morning Drive reported a residential burglary.

4:04 p.m. — A caller from the 14000 block of Sky Pines Road reported a possible telephone scam.

4:09 p.m. — A caller from the 10000 block of Norambuaga Lane reported rent fraud.

5:20 p.m. — A caller from Long Valley Road reported vandalism to a vehicle.

7:45 p.m. — A caller from Wolf Mountain Road reported eight to 10 juveniles at the tower; no damage was found.

Friday

12:13 a.m. — A caller from the 18000 block of Wildflower Drive reported a woman driving a vehicle as “raging” and might be under the influence of narcotics; she had a child in the vehicle with her.

Thursday

4:10 p.m. — A caller from Gold Flat Road reported a trespasser.

5:6 p.m. — A caller from Railroad Avenue reported a trailer with a dead smell coming from it; the smell was a dead deer in the area. The trailer was posted with a notice.

Friday

6:38 a.m. — A caller from Sacramento Street reported a transient sleeping on the third level of a building.
