Bones in floors, cat tail rashes highlight Police Blotter

Friday

12:58 a.m. — An alarm at a business on the 12100 block of Nevada City Highway was triggered. Video surveillance showed a male and female on the scene at the time.

9:52 a.m. — A caller on the 100 block of West Empire Street reported two feral cats, one with a bad rash on its tail.

12:38 p.m. — A caller on the 400 block of Mill Street reported finding young juveniles in the street outside a day care and picked them up to take to the day care, whose workers had not realized the children’s absence.

2:28 p.m. — A caller near a parking lot on Commercial Street reported a dog in distress locked inside a hot vehicle.

5:43 p.m. — A caller on the 100 block of West McKnight Way reported two dogs in distress locked inside a hot vehicle.

5:58 p.m. — A caller on the 100 block of Springhill Drive reported a woman tried to hit a man with a hammer.

7:18 p.m. — A caller on the 200 block of Sutton Way reported a dog in distress locked in a hot vehicle.

9:35 p.m. — A caller on the 100 block of Neal Street reported two men fighting.

9:58 p.m. — A caller on the 100 block of West McKnight Way reported subjects setting off fireworks behind a grocery store.

10:13 p.m. — A caller on the 200 block of Depot Street reported a man yelling at his girlfriend in the parking lot for the last two days.

Saturday

2:25 a.m. — A caller on the 400 block of East Main Street reported hearing a male voice asking for help. The caller reported hearing this voice come from a ditch but was unwilling to approach the ditch.

7:36 a.m. — A caller on the 500 block of Pine Street who was working on a “very old house” reported finding bones under flooring that was torn up and wanted to make sure they weren’t human bones.

5:12 p.m. — A caller at a store on the 100 block of West McKnight Way reported a dirt bike stolen.

10:01 a.m. — A caller near the intersection of Wolf Mountain and McCourtney roads reported the use of fireworks in violation of an ordinance prohibiting such use because of fire danger.

1:04 p.m. — A caller on the 15100 block of Brooks Road reported a death threat sent through the Internet.

4:02 p.m. — A caller on the 16800 block of Grizzly Ridge Road reported the theft of a propane generator.

7:26 p.m. — A caller at Engelbright Lake reported being run over by a boat.

7:27 p.m. — A caller on the 13700 block of Capitol Drive reported the use of illegal fireworks.

Saturday

1:02 p.m. — A pizza delivery person on the 14300 block of Little Hill Lane reported being bitten by a dog the night before. Caller was advised to speak with Animal Control on Monday.

7:50 p.m. — A caller along the south fork of the Yuba River between the Highway 49 and Bridgeport bridges reported what the caller believed to be a bone from a human foot but was later determined to be that of a bear’s.

9:03 p.m. — A caller on the 15800 block of Banner Quaker Hill Road reported an intoxicated individual, speaking Indian, lying in the roadway, accompanied by two dogs. The drunken man was transported by the California Highway Patrol to his transient camp behind the Sutton Way Flyers gas station.
