More than a right to be remembered

I read the article my mother, Connie Reisenweber, submitted in a letter to The Union about setting up memorial crosses on Memorial Day weekend for those who died on Highway 174. In short, the letter demonstrated the importance of remembering those whom we have lost. I would like to add that in 2007, my good friend, Laura Freeman, died on this highway, heading eastward just before the Brunswick Y. As you pass Cedar Ridge and come up on the curves before Brunswick, you may notice that on your right hand side is a tree with the bark ripped off the front. This is where a drunk driver, Joshua Yeager, crashed at 70 mph with two of my friends in the car. In the front was Laura, who died, and in back was Dalton Brown, who was seriously injured.
