Police blotter: Rock assault, smash and grab car burglary


Grass Valley Police Department

Tuesday

10:27 a.m. — A caller from the 200 block of Sutton Way reported an assault. A man reportedly threw a rock at a juvenile victim and then tried to leave the scene. He allegedly said there had been an argument over a lost knife and was arrested on suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon. The victim was treated at the hospital.

12:02 p.m. — A woman from the 300 block of Marshall Street reported the theft of a front license plate.

12:19 p.m. — A caller from Doris Drive and Hazel Lane reported possible drug activity.

1:05 p.m. — A caller from the 200 block of Rockwood Drive reported hearing multiple shots. Nothing unusual was located.

2:20 p.m. — A caller from the 200 block of Sutton Way reported ongoing issues with drug use and rock throwing.

3:42 p.m. — A caller from the 1000 block of Sutton Way reported a man spits coffee out in front of a business daily. He was advised to stop.

5:15 p.m. — A caller from the 600 block of Idaho-Maryland Road reported a theft from a business account.

8:19 p.m. — A caller from Bennett and Ophir streets reported several men had chased a man and threw beer at him.

9:38 p.m. — A woman from the 1900 block of Nevada City Highway reported her vehicle window had been smashed and her purse and phone were missing.

11:37 p.m. — A caller from the 200 block of Sutton Way reported a man and a woman in an argument with shoving. A report was taken.

Tuesday

8:53 a.m. — A caller from the 12000 block of Sadie D Drive reported a possible broken pipe with water shooting at least five feet in the air.

9:37 a.m. — A caller from the 21000 block of Highway 49 reported PG&E would be blasting pole holes in the area south of Peterson’s Corner.

10:36 a.m. — A caller from Norlene Way reported a man was under the influence of meth and breaking items.

3:02 p.m. — A caller reported multiple juveniles trying to fight each other, with no further information given.

3:35 p.m. — A man from Highway 49 and Old Downieville Highway reported he had been gold panning and was approached by a man who said he took a picture of his license plate, and then he heard him fire a gun.

4 p.m. — A caller from Blue Tent School and Nimbus Dam roads reported hearing several shots.

4:42 p.m. — A caller from the 12000 block of Loma Rica Drive reported a storage shed had been broken into.

6:01 p.m. — A woman from the 13000 block of Plot Peak Lane reported a neighbor was parked on her land, harassing her animals.

6:24 p.m. — A woman from the 13000 block of Capitol Drive reported her bedroom window had been smashed in an attempted burglary.

6:49 p.m. — A woman from the 15000 block of Orchard Springs Road reported her dog was attacked by two Siberian huskies.

7:51 p.m. — A caller from the 23000 block of Highway 20 reported a residential burglary.

9:25 p.m. — A caller from the jail reported finding drugs.

9:54 p.m. — A caller from the 15000 block of Highway 20 reported a man broke a vehicle windshield and was trying to get into a residence. The female victim was uncooperative.

10:51 p.m. — A caller from East Drive and Sunset Avenue reported a man and a woman yelling. Another caller reported a yelling man and possible shots fired. A third caller reported banging, possibly a vehicle crashing into another repeatedly; other callers reported a physical fight and a man with a pistol. A juvenile as cited on suspicion of being drunk in public and the CHP arrested a man on suspicion of driving under the influence.

Tuesday

3:03 p.m. — A caller from the 700 block of Lindley Avenue reported a woman driving with an infant in her lap. They were gone when officers arrived.

5:32 p.m. — A caller from Turpentine Drive and Long Street reported three men went over a locked fence and into a building. Several juveniles were cited on unknown charges.

5:52 p.m. — A caller from the 800 block of Zion Street reported a trespasser.
