New California law states that children in the Healthy Families Program must be moved to Medi-Cal. The move will take place over one year, starting in 2013, according to a memo from Nevada County CEO Rick Haffey. The transition of approximately 875,000 HFP enrollees will be implemented in four separate phases over the course of one year and in a manner that minimizes disruption in services, maintains adequate provider networks and ensures access to care, Haffey wrote in his memorandum.
