The Nevada Irrigation District is looking at new ways to extend treated water supplies to neighborhoods that are beyond existing water system infrastructure. In a presentation at Wednesday’s meeting of the NID Board of Directors, Chief Engineer Gary King outlined a “backbone extension” program that would expand the district’s current systems. He said the program would be “another tool” in helping residents gain access to public treated water supplies.
