After 32 years with the Nevada City Police Department, Lt. Lorin Gage is set to retire on Dec. 28. “It’s time to move on and let the younger officers take over,” Gage told The Union. Former Police Chief Bill Beard hired Gage in 1980. He has worked with three other police chiefs since then and four city managers, he said. Gage was promoted to Sergeant in 1985 and Lieutenant in 2008, he said. “I’ve enjoyed working with the people of Nevada City,” Gage said. “It’s been a good bunch of people to work with.” Check back with The Union next …
