Pooling funds from multiple sources, the Nevada County Sheriff’s Search and Rescue bought a trailer slated to function as a mobile command unit for the group. “We will use the trailer to basically be a command post,” said Del Clement, volunteer coordinator for Nevada County search and rescue. “It will allow us to communicate with search parties and help make the search more efficient.” The trailer cost about $12,000 with an additional $21,000 invested to outfit the vehicle with communication equipment, Clement said.
