Grass Valley man arrested after allegedly stabbing brother

A Grass Valley man was arrested after allegedly stabbing his brother during an argument Wednesday evening.

Grass Valley Police officers were called to an apartment in the 200 block of Sutton Way just after 5:30 p.m. with multiple reports of a stabbing.

A man identified as Robert Allen Gordon, 48, got into a dispute with his 53-year-old brother and assaulted him with a 6-inch serrated knife, essentially a steak knife, said Grass Valley Police Capt. Rex Marks. The cause of the argument was not known.

Gordon was “agitated” when officers arrived at the scene, but was subdued without further incident and taken in for a medical and mental health evaluation, Marks said. He reportedly sustained minor injuries.

The victim allegedly sustained a laceration to the forearm.

Gordon was booked into county jail on suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon and is being held in lieu of $25,000 bail.
