Two high school board incumbents retain their seats

Katy Schwarz, board president of Nevada Joint Union High School District, retained her Area 3 seat Tuesday with 55 percent of the vote and 2,623 votes against James Drew’s 2,160 votes. Schwarz, who held the presidential position for the last eight years, said she is thankful for the community support that led to her win. “I’m most grateful for the support people have in me to re-elect me,” Schwarz said. “I love what I do. I have a passion for it and I feel like I’m really anxious to continue.” Schwarz said her focus will be on budget and community …
