Two incumbents defeated two challengers for their respective seats on the board of directors of the Nevada Irrigation District. With 95 percent of precincts reporting Tuesday, Nick Wilcox garnered 3,422 votes (or 66 percent) to defeat contender Jack Meeks, who had 34 percent, to retain the Division 5 seat. “I am pleased to have the confidence of the people in my district,” Wilcox said. “I trust I have served them well, and I trust I will continue to do so.” Meeks, who served on the Nevada County Board of Education, has previously made unsuccessful bids for an NID board seat. …
