A driver who stopped at the Omega rest stop on Highway 20 found an apparent suicide victim early Thursday evening. Nevada County Sheriff’s deputies were dispatched to the rest area at 5:30 p.m. after receiving a call of a man with a gunshot wound. The witness said he did not hear a gunshot, but found the man lying face-down with a .38-caliber revolver next to him, said Sheriff’s Lt.
