A vegetation fire reported at Condon Park early Wednesday morning was quickly extinguished, according to Grass Valley Police Capt. rex Marks. The fire was called in just after 2 a.m. and firefighters responded from Grass Valley, Nevada County Consolidated and Nevada City. Firefighters found about an acre burning with a slow rate of spread, according to Grass Valley Fire Battalion Chief Mark Buttron. The blaze was extinguished with no damage to park facilities. Investigators determined the cause likely was an escaped fire from a transient camp in the area, Buttron said. No injuries were reported. …
