Police Blotter: Dogs kill rabbit, emu on the lam


Grass Valley Police Department

Sunday — 73 calls for service

8:20 a.m. — A woman from the 200 block of Joerschke Drive reported her neighbor squirted her in the face with a Super Soaker.

10:26 a.m. — A caller from the 300 block of Pleasant Street reported the theft of a red Mustang GT convertible.

11:59 a.m. — A caller from East Main and Alta streets reported juveniles throwing tomatoes at cars; one was admonished.

4:34 p.m. — A caller from the 1100 block of East Main Street reported a burglary with a cash drawer taken.

6:50 p.m. — A caller from the 100 block of Bank Street reported the theft of coffee and cookies.

6:56 p.m. — A caller from Codon Park reported a man passed out, who was arrested on suspicion of being drunk in public.

7:41 p.m. — A caller from Condon Park reported a possibly physical fight; nothing was located.

8:29 p.m. — A caller from the 600 block of Freeman Lane reported two people possibly stole Sunny Delight and a sandwich.

10:22 p.m. — A caller from the 100 block of Ophir Street reported a physical fight involving five or six men at a transient camp. No report was desired.

1:36 a.m. — A caller from Catalpa Lane reported a possible burglary with items moved and window screen possibly cut.

3:16 a.m. — A caller from the 1000 block of Sutton Way reported a man stole a wireless tablet.

3:47 a.m. — A caller from the 100 block of Glasson Way reported a man was threatening an emergency room physician. He was arrested on suspicion of being under the influence of a controlled substance.

9:09 a.m. — A man from the 12000 block of Rainbow Road reported two dogs had killed a rabbit. They were picked up and taken to the shelter.

9:44 a.m. — A caller from Taylorville Road reported illegal dumping of six bags of garbage.

10:28 a.m. — A caller from Bloomfield Court reported two dogs attacked a woman and her leashed dogs.

11:32 a.m. — A caller from Washington Road and Highway 20 reported skateboarders with ski poles.

12:34 p.m. — A man from the 10000 block of Quail Creek Road reported finding a possibly stolen chain saw.

1:42 p.m. — A man from the 13000 block of La Barr Meadows Road reported an emu in his backyard.

2:29 p.m. — A man from the 15000 block of Little Valley Road reported the theft of items from a trailer.

4:07 p.m. — A caller from the 10000 block of Alta Sierra Drive reported a burglary to a shed.

5:31 p.m. — A caller from the 14000 block of Deerwood Place reported trespassers partying at the river.

6:32 p.m. — A caller from the 11000 block of Red Ranch Road reported a person stealing firewood. It was a misunderstanding.

7:10 p.m. — A caller from the 12000 block of Madrone Forest Drive reported a transformer blew up and a tree was on fire.

7:38 p.m. — A property inspector on Blue Tent School Road reported a person threw rocks and yelled at the inspector to get off the property.

7:50 p.m. — A man from the 10000 block of Newtown Road reported he was assaulted by someone who came at him with a pipe.

11:19 a.m. — A woman from the 19000 block of Mountain Lion Road reported her boyfriend assaulted her.
