Women of Worth fundraiser at Sierra Cinemas

Sierra Cinemas opens the new film “Won’t Back Down” Friday, with an opportunity to support local nonprofit organization Women of Worth.

The film, starring Maggie Gyllenhaal and Viola Davis, tells the story of two determined mothers, one a teacher, looking to transform their children’s failing inner city school. Facing a powerful and entrenched bureaucracy, they risk everything to make a difference in the education and future of their children.

In keeping with the theme of the film, Sierra Cinemas will host a school supply drive to benefit Women of Worth, a grassroots nonprofit assisting victims of abuse, human trafficking and families in crisis.

Bring in your donation of school supplies and monetary donations and you will be entered to win a movie prize pack, including free tickets to the movies.

The film “Won’t Back Down,” rated PG, plays at Sierra Cinemas beginning Friday and the drive will run through Thursday. Visit for tickets and showtimes.
