7 Hills' Bikerecycle helps Restore, restore helps Bikerecycle

When Nevada County’s Habitat for Humanity’s ReStore presented a $760 check to Nevada City School District’s bicycle shop, it represented the fruits of their collaboration. Nevada County’s Habitat for Humanity began working with Nevada City School District’s bicycle shop at its Seven Hills campus last spring to increase revenue for both. Habitat ReStore General Manager Danny Childs knew it could only be a benefit to everyone involved. “What instigated it is we get donated bikes all the time in a less-than-ideal condition,” Childs said. “It struck us that the kids from Seven Hills could repair these bikes.” Since early summer, …
