Unitarian Universalist Community of the Mountains

In the tradition of St. Francis we will honor the animals that share our lives. Bring your well-behaved pets to be blessed at this intergenerational, interspecies worship service, “Animal Blessing” at 11 a.m. this Sunday. Pictures of shy pets and special stuffed animals are also welcome. We will also be honoring the memory of animals that have died in the last year. Twin Cities Church

Join us Sunday for “The Life App Series.” The message this week is “The Heart App.” Twin Cities Church meets Sundays at 8, 9:35, and 11:15 a.m. at 11726 Rough and Ready Highway. Children (birth through fifth grade) meet during every Sunday morning service. Senior high students meet at 9:35 a.m. and junior high students meet at 11:15 a.m. in the east Multi-purpose room. Unity in the Gold Country

Mountain Stream Meditation Center

Our Buddhist Insight Meditation group meets Mondays, 7:30 to 9 p.m., at Wild Mountain Yoga Center, 574 Searls Ave., Nevada City. Peace Lutheran Church

Sunday, September 16th: Join us today for a new beginning at Peace Lutheran Church! Grass Valley AM AGLOW

We are a local chapter of Aglow International, meets the 2nd Tuesday of every month from 9:45 to noon at 336 Crown Point Circle, Grass Valley. Aglow is a wonderful opportunity for unity in the Body of Christ and is not “just for women” anymore! Take Brunswick Road to Whispering Pines Lane, left on Crown Point Circle and then right @ Nevada County Board of Realtors. Pray Nevada County

We are seeking God on behalf of our communities. Open to all for Christian prayer, Pray Nevada County meets each Tuesday from noon to 1 p.m. to pray for our county governments and services, schools and families, businesses and media, and churches and parachurch ministries. Since August 1997, 15 to 25 people from eight to 12 congregations have met each week to pray for our communities. In the month of September, we will be meeting at Livingwell Medical Clinic, 113 Presley Way Suite 4, Grass Valley.

The Healing Rooms of Nevada County

We pray for healing of body and spirit. Everyone is welcome whether they attend church or not. Come to the Main Lobby of the Sierra Nevada Memorial Hospital, 155 Glasson Way, Grass Valley on Thursdays, 7 to 8:30 p.m. There is no fee and no appointment is necessary. Also, Tuesday mornings from 9 to 11:30 a.m. healing ministry is available by appointment only.

The BAM Project ~ A Nevada County Tapestry

We invite ALL women to come and pray with them at the Biblical Gardens near Alta Sierra at 7:30 a.m. on Saturday Sept. 8. We will join together as the power of prayerful woman to pray for each others friends, families, businesses, the upcoming BAM events and the upcoming elections. This is a free event. Nevada Union United Methodist Church

Join us for the 3rd Sunday in September of our Discipleship month. Rev. Donald Fado will be our guest speaker and will deliver a message on “Service” at both the 9am Traditional and 10:30am Contemporary worship services. Rev. Fado is a retired Senior Pastor at St. Mark’s UMC in Sacramento. He served as delegate to Jurisdictional and General Conferences, was the founding co-chair of the national Reconciling Ministries Clergy of the UMC, etc. Children’s Sunday School classes will be held during the 10:30 worship service with loving childcare all morning. Jr. and Sr. High Youth will meet at 10am for a light breakfast and Bible Study before joining the 10:30 worship service. Fellowship takes place following both services.

Brother, can you spare an ... hour?

A group of local men meets from 6 to 7 a.m. Thursdays at Penny’s Diner for breakfast. Under the banner of “Christian Business Men’s Committee,” we have breakfast, read a portion of scripture, share what God has done in our life and pray. As a welcome break between weekends, these men encourage each other as they wish to encourage you in these trying times.

Hope Bearers

We are a Christian cancer support group that meets at Foothill Church. Those with serious chronic illnesses, including cancer, and their care givers are encouraged to come and share in a safe environment concerning this difficult time. The Palestine-Israel Working Group of Nevada County (PIWG)

We advocate for human rights, equality and justice for all in Palestine and Israel. We meet on the second Tuesday of each month at 7 p.m. at the Peace Center of Nevada County, 216 B Main Street, Nevada City. PIWG sponsors the Women and Men in Black vigil Thursdays, 5:15 to 6 p.m. on the Broad Street bridge in Nevada City. We vigil to in support of the Women in Black in Israel, who founded the movement in 1988. All who support human rights and justice for all in Palestine and Israel are welcome to join the vigil. Bring a sign or use one of ours.

Grass Valley Seventh-day Adventist Church
