Heart-wrenched family and friends continue to search for a missing 17-year-old Nevada Union High School student who reportedly ran away from home Monday.

Jason Murray is reported to be 5 feet, 11 inches and 182 pounds with brown hair and green eyes, his mother, Teresa Murray said.

"He's been going through an emotional crisis and he's been acting out," Teresa Murray said.

A missing person's report was filed to Nevada County Sheriff's Office as of Tuesday according to Shelly Netherby, record supervisor for Nevada County Sheriff's Office.

Jason Murray was entered into the missing person's system and was still considered a runaway, said Cpt. Jeff Powell of Nevada County Sheriff's Office.

"I was told there were no suspicious circumstances," he said.
