Police blotter: Fourteen years of fighting prompts call


Grass Valley Police Department

Friday

11:07 a.m. — A caller from the 300 block of Dorsey Drive reported a man throwing pine cones at buses. He could not be located.

11:25 a.m. — A caller from the 200 block of Sierra College Drive reported a man who was a shoplifting suspect was back; he was advised not to return.

12:50 p.m. — A caller from the 200 block of Dorsey Drive reported the theft of a cell phone.

12:51 p.m. — A caller from the 2000 block of Nevada City Highway reported a shirtless man with a towel wrapped around his head, panhandling. He was issued a warning.

1:49 p.m. — A man from the 100 block of Bank Street reported his wife had been missing for four hours. At 6:34 p.m., he reported that she called a relative to say she had been kidnapped and was dropped off at the fairgrounds with no money.

5:50 p.m. — A caller from the 200 block of Dorsey Drive reported possible drug use.

9:49 p.m. — A caller from the 1900 block of Nevada City Highway reported a transient’s dog attacked another dog.

10:38 p.m. — A caller from the 100 block of Mulberry Drive reported a cat stuck in a drain, which could not be located.

10:47 p.m. — A caller from the 2000 block of Nevada City Highway reported a man looking into vehicles.

Saturday

12:07 a.m. — A caller from the 1000 block of Sutton Way reported a possible theft from a business.

1:32 a.m. — A caller from Highway 174 and Partridge Road reported a man lying in the middle of the highway, who gave him a thumbs up and then passed out. Medical was staging and the CHP was advised.

1:39 a.m. — A caller from the 1000 block of Laurel Lane reported women screaming. They were arguing and were advised to keep it down.

4:36 a.m. — A caller from East Main Street and Hughes Road reported two men fighting in a vehicle, with one headbutting the other. One man was arrested on suspicion of being drunk in public and the other was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence.

10:42 a.m. — A caller from Sutton Way reported four people camping in a field; they were moving on.

11:03 a.m. — A caller from East Main Street and Hughes Road reported finding needles and other paraphernalia at a bus shelter; nothing was located.

1:27 p.m. — A woman from Primrose Lane reported a phone scam that was using her name and address. Her number was being used by a telemarketing company at their caller ID; AT&T advised she get an unlisted number.

2:03 p.m. — A caller from the 1900 block of Nevada City Highway reported a man with a vicious dog that was trying to attack people. Another person with a dog that was unlicensed was contacted and cited; they were moving on.

2:25 p.m. — A caller from Nevada City Highway and Brunswick Road reported two men in their underwear walking into traffic; they were gone when an officer arrived.

3:11 p.m. — A caller from the 700 block of Sutton Way reported a woman stole sunglasses, perfume and cosmetics. She was arrested on suspicion of petty theft, and possessing a controlled substance and drug paraphernalia.

3:21 p.m. — A woman from the 200 block of Glenbrook Drive reported her house was broken into and old coins and other valuable metals were stolen.

3:37 p.m. — A caller from the 800 block of Sutton Way reported a man said he was drunk and wanted to be arrested. He was booked on an outstanding warrant.

9:03 p.m. — A caller from Primrose Lane reported vandalism.

9:04 p.m. — A caller from the 500 block of Brunswick Road reported a theft.

9”05 p.m. — A caller from the 500 block of Crown Point Circle reported a theft.

10:57 p.m. — A caller from Henderson Street and Colfax Avenue reported screaming and hollering. No one was located.

11:23 p.m. — A caller from the 600 block of Whiting Street reported a man throwing beer bottles at a trailer.

2:04 a.m. — A caller from the 600 block of South Auburn Street reported men screaming and pounding on a door.

2:39 a.m. — A caller from the 100 block of Conaway Avenue reported two people tried to jump a fence, then left on foot.

9:18 a.m. — A caller from the 19000 block of Pleasant Valley Road reported a commercial burglary. No access to the interior was made; extra patrols were requested.

9:27 a.m. — A caller from the 16000 block of Bristow Court reported the theft of diesel.

12:01 p.m. — A caller from the Lake of the Pines shopping center reported juveniles were trespassing and leaving broken glass.

12:41 p.m. — A caller from the 10000 block of Spenceville Road reported a boy with a sword striking at a tree. At 3:47 p.m., a caller reported finding a sword under a shed.

12:49 p.m. — A caller from the 14000 block of Greenhorn Road reported vandalism to ladders, gutters, and swamp cooler tubing.

1:27 p.m. — A woman from the 20000 block of Cruzon Grade Road reported a neighbor broke her car windows.

1:41 p.m. — A woman from the 13000 block of Red Dog Road reported someone broke a lamp post.

2:51 p.m. — A caller from Highway 20 and Penn Valley reported a man jumping in and out of traffic.

3:44 p.m. — A caller from the 11000 block of La Barr Meadows Road reported a phone scam.

7:02 p.m. — A caller from the 15000 block of Norlene Way reported ongoing domestic violence.

9:37 p.m. — A caller from the 11000 block of Grass Valley Ranch Road reported a prowler at the front door, who could not be located.

10:07 p.m. — A caller from the 10000 block of Combie Road reported five or six people put a woman in the trunk of a car.

11:11 p.m. — A caller from the 10000 block of Woodchuck Court reported a man punched a woman; he was arrested on suspicion of battery of a spouse.

11:26 p.m. — A caller from the 10000 block of Marmot Court reported a girl was tearing up a house, pushed a victim, threw a cell phone and kicked in a door. She was arrested on suspicion of vandalism.

11:55 p.m. — A caller from the 20000 block of Highway 49 reported fireworks.

Saturday

12:34 a.m. — A caller from the 15000 block of Holly Davo Place reported hearing screaming and a gunshot. It was found to have been someone killing a skunk.

12:50 a.m. — A caller from the 10000 block of Sunrise Heights reported a house was egged and a black sandal was found at the scene.

2:41 a.m. — A man from Lake Lane reported his mother took his car keys; he said he was sober and she just doesn’t feel that he is doing what he should with his life. The situation was mediated.

10:26 a.m. — A caller from Carriage Road and Arey Place reported someone abandoned two roosters and a chicken and they were running loose.

10:47 a.m. — A caller from the 14000 block of Honeysuckle Court reported finding a needle.

1:02 p.m. — A caller from Cottage Hill and Running M drives reported a woman was attacked by a dog and sought treatment in the emergency room.

1:51 p.m. — A caller from the 10000 block of North Ponderosa Way reported eight trespassers, who could not be located.

2:11 p.m. — A caller from the 16000 block of Brooks Road reported the theft of a table and chairs that had a for-sale sign in them.

4:13 p.m. — A caller from the 18000 block of Gopher Lane reported the theft of a car trailer.

4:14 p.m. — A woman from Lakeshore South reported she and her husband have been fighting for 14 years, and he is scaring her.

5:51 p.m. — A woman from the 19000 block of Outpost Court reported someone cut a phone line, and she requested extra patrols.

6:19 p.m. — A caller from the 10000 block of Carey Drive reported a burglary.

6:33 p.m. — A caller from the 13000 block of Elderberry Lane reported a bear.

8:18 p.m. — A caller form the 13000 block of Elderberry Lane reported an assault.

8:42 p.m. — A caller from the 12000 block of Squirrel Creek Road reported an event with loud music.

9:34 p.m. — A caller from the 10000 block of Combie Road reported receiving a counterfeit $20 bill.

11:20 p.m. — A caller from Mandala Star Road reported a bear in the trash.

Sunday

12:07 a.m. — A caller from the 11000 block of Street Road reported a loud party. At 2:40 a.m., a caller reported fighting.

3:05 a.m. — A caller from the 11000 block of Willow Valley Road reported a loud party.

7:49 a.m. — Multiple callers from Highway 174 and Somerset Drive reported a large bear.
