Jimmy was born August 2, 1972 in Gilroy, Calif. Jimmy grew up in Nevada County and attended Pleasant Valley Middle School and graduated from Nevada Union High School in 1990.
He was loved by many colleagues of different work places including Kilroy’s Towing, and lastly Ferrellgas, where he had been employed for the last 14 years until his death.
Jimmy is survived by children Zachary Peterson, Cloey Peterson, and Jasmine Moody; beloved parents Annette Merenda and James Merenda; sisters Jamie Merenda, Kathy Merenda-Horton, and Angel Fox, as well as ten nieces and nephews, one great niece, cousins, aunts and uncles.
Jimmy will forever be missed by many lifelong friends and people he has touched throughout our community, much of which he shared some of his favorite past times. Being a father, boating, racing, and restoring classic cars were a few of the many things he loved in life.
The most painful goodbyes are the ones that are never said and never explained.

A special thanks to Ferrellgas, friends, family and businesses throughout the community for all their support.
