Police blotter: Man wants poisonous animal to put in mailbox


GRASS VALLEY POLICE DEPARTMENT

Friday

8:39 a.m. — A woman from the 500 block of Packard Drive reported a car almost hit her as she was crossing the street.

10:00 a.m. — A caller from the 700 block of Freeman Lane reported a man in a parking lot who is very dirty, with a dog, sitting on a bench outside of a grocery store. The caller felt the man needed assistance.

10:52 a.m. — A caller from the 600 block of Freeman Lane reported that a suspicious man entered a place of business asking to buy a poisonous animal to place in someone’s mailbox. The caller stated that they have the man on video and that he was lurking and looking into vehicles in the parking lot.

12:24 p.m. — A man from the 500 block of Butler Street reported a sleeping bag thrown up against his fence, and reported that he believed transients were around.

1:46 p.m. — A caller from the 600 block of Packard Drive reported a computer scam.

1:58 p.m. — A caller from the 500 block of Sutton Way reported that a driver was observed pouring wine from a bottle into a soda cup.

2:59 p.m. — A caller from West Empire Street and Ocean Drive reported a needle on the ground and requested that it be picked up.

3:19 p.m. — A caller from the Nevada City Highway reported a woman headed toward a store with missing teeth who was tweaking and smelled of alcohol.

3:22 p.m. — A man from the 400 block of Butler Street reported he found a shopping cart in his driveway with some blood on it.

4:41 p.m. — A caller from the 100 block of Litton Way reported two kids locked in a car parked in a lot. The kids were crying and parked there for 10-20 minutes.

6:17 p.m. — A caller from the 800 block of Sutton Way reported a woman screaming on the side of the road closest to Brunswick and throwing items into traffic.

8:00 p.m. — A caller from the 600 block of Minnie Street reported that he was a park monitor at the ball field and that a subject asked for his wallet, so he flashed his flashlight in the subject’s eyes and hit him in the groin with a stick. After being placed on hold, the caller hung up and then called back, stating he was at the ball field replacing a light.

9:24 p.m. — A caller from the 800 block of Sutton Way reported a man asking him for money while he was at the ATM machine.

Saturday

1:26 a.m. — A woman from the 600 block of Whiting Street reported hearing rattling on her window and that someone was trying to break into her house.

2:08 a.m. — A caller from the 100 block of East Main Street reported a drunk person sitting in the post office near the emergency exit door, surrounded by open bottles of alcohol.

6:50 a.m. — A caller from the 800 block of Sutton Way reported seeing two intoxicated elderly men panhandling from a limo.

9:24 a.m. — A caller from Washington Street and North Auburn Street reported a small dog running in the road and up the hill toward a hotel.

10:08 a.m. — A caller from a hill-top senior home reported a terrorist group has been in the county a couple of weeks, cutting children’s faces and stabbing them with needles in the feet.

2:49 p.m. — A caller from Rhode Island Street and Mill Street reported a woman standing in the middle of the road, screaming and yelling.

8:15 p.m. — A caller from De Mautino Park reported hearing yelling and screaming coming from the park, which was closed.

9:20 p.m. — A woman from the 300 block of Horizon Circle reported someone pounded on her screen door, then took off running. The woman said this also happened a couple of weeks ago.

10:34 p.m. — A caller from the 200 block of West Main Street reported a female parked in a hotel parking lot who said she picking up her kids. She refused to give her name.

Sunday

12:18 a.m. — A caller from Olympia Park Road and Sutton Way reported two people on bikes wearing masks.

12:26 a.m. — A caller from the 1000 block of Plaza Drive reported there were three men fighting in a parking lot.

NEVADA COUNTY SHERIFF’s DEPARTMENT

Friday

7:30 a.m. — A caller from the 11000 block of Bowman Lake Road reported a house was broken into and has multiple broken windows.

7:39 a.m. — A man from the 10000 block of Sierra Drive reported his car tires had been slashed and gas was stolen from his car.

8:01 a.m. — A caller from the 20000 block of Dog Bar Road reported a horse had been stolen.

9:35 a.m. — A caller from Tyler Foote Crossing Road and Oak Tree Road reported that a motorcycle hit a tree.

9:56 a.m. — A woman from the 15000 block of Chattering Pines Road reported that transients were throwing trash at her property.

1:57 p.m. — A man from the 18000 block of Bloomfield-Graniteville Road reported that his neighbor was firing a large-caliber weapon toward his house.

2:30 p.m. — A man from the 21000 block of Donaldine Drive reported that he was assaulted by two men who stole his cell phone.

3:59 p.m. — A caller from the 17000 block of Indian Springs Road reported there are at least eight dead cows in the back of a neighbor’s property and complained about the smell. The caller has not actually seen the animals.

5:43 p.m. — A caller from the 18000 block of Indian Springs Road reported the caller’s teenage daughter got out of control after taking away her lap top. Four hours later, the caller reported the daughter is in the driveway screaming.

8:52 p.m. — A caller from the 18000 block of River Ranch Road reported hearing drunk juveniles shooting guns and setting off fireworks next door. The caller asked to remain anonymous.

10:16 p.m. — A caller from the 18000 block of Jayhawk Drive reported that her house was egged.

Saturday

3:43 a.m. — A caller from the Nevada City Highway reported that a transient man is refusing to leave a gas station and is talking to himself and saying his lungs are bleeding.

11:37 a.m. — A caller from the 20000 block of Casa Loma Drive reported attempted fraud.

2:11 p.m. — A woman from the 18000 block of Greenhorn Road reported there are people in her house that she does not know. She claimed they were imposters pretending to be her family.

6:25 p.m. — A caller from Squirrel Creek Road and Crestwood Street reported that someone stuck a knife through the bus stop sign.

7:33 p.m. — A caller from Steep Hollow and Lowell Hill reported that transients had started a large bonfire on a hillside.

10:36 p.m. — A caller from Landon Evan Lane and Combie Road reported hearing 10 gunshots.

Sunday

12:36 a.m. — A woman form 10000 Owl Drive reported that a truck hit and killed her dog. The license plate was left at the scene.

7:07 a.m. — A county safety report cautions of a man driving around the area with a shotgun, claiming he is being chased by a cult.

7:35 a.m. — A caller from a church reported that curse words had been spray-painted onto a church parking lot.
