Police blotter: Machete threat leads to arrest


Grass Valley Police Department

Wednesday

8:25 a.m. — A caller from the 200 block of Gates Place reported a physical fight. A man said someone tried to run him over, then he bit him.

8:40 a.m. — A caller from Bank and Tinloy streets reported people selling bibles. They said they were giving them away for free.

9:14 a.m. — A caller from the 600 block of Whiting Street reported numerous vehicles had been broken into last night.

9:27 a.m. — A caller from the 500 block of Brunswick Road reported hearing a shotgun blast; nothing was located.

11:25 a.m. — A woman from the 300 block of Sutton Way reported a man was hiding inside an apartment after assaulting her.

12:59 p.m. — A caller form the 300 block of Pleasant Street reported someone ransacked a car and possibly took change, leaving the door open.

1 p.m. — A caller from Elisabeth Daniels Park reported a woman smoking a large glass pipe; she was gone when an officer arrived.

2:35 p.m. — A woman from Cone Tree Trail reported a person broke the window out in a van.

2:55 p.m. — A caller from the 700 block of Sutton Way reported a man stole merchandise; it was returned.

4:31 p.m. — A caller from the 900 block of Laurel Lane reported a computer had been hacked by Internet thieves.

7:26 p.m. — A caller from the 100 block of Colfax East reported a Pontiac Bonneville had been gone through.

8:55 p.m. — A caller from Plaza Drive reported a possible transient camp.

11:45 p.m. — A caller from the 1800 block of East Main Street reported people smoking marijuana in the parking lot; no one was located.

Thursday

2:48 a.m. — A caller from the 500 block of Ivy Street reported a person parked in the driveway and who then was sitting on the front porch, and then left.

5:52 a.m. — A caller from the 500 block of Jenkins Street reported a vehicle had been broken into last night.

8:06 a.m. — A caller from the 12000 block of Austin Forest Circle reported identity theft.

9:27 a.m. — A caller from the 18000 block of North Bloomfield-Graniteville Road told the dispatcher to bark like a dog. She called back at 9:38 a.m. to advise she was going to shoot a trailer because she was up all night and was going crazy.

9:29 a.m. — A man from the 18000 block of Hunt Creek Road reported a person shot his cows.

11:08 a.m. — A woman from the 22000 block of Jennifer Drive reported a man set up tarps in front of her house and was lying inside them. He was moving on.

11:36 a.m. — A man from the 10000 block of Adam Avenue reported a person cut the gas line to a truck’s gas tank.

12:03 p.m. — A man from the 15000 block of Julia Ranch Road reported a man assaulted him; he did not want medical attention.

12:09 p.m. — A man from the 12000 block of Valley View Road reported that he went to fix a heater, and a tenant had two machetes and made threats. A man was arrested on suspicion of exhibiting a deadly weapon.

12:32 p.m. — A caller from the 22000 block of Pleasant Valley Road reported possible stalking.

12:57 p.m. — A caller from Deadmans Flat reported loud explosions and/or guns going off.

1:47 p.m. — A caller from Grizzly Gravel Road requested a welfare check on multiple dogs.

2:06 p.m. — A caller from the 11000 block of Mooney Flat Road reported a possible sick fox, which was dispatched.

3:31 p.m. — A caller from the 10000 block of Birchville Road reported being scammed on an Internet purchase of a used ATV.

3:49 p.m. — A caller from the 16000 block of Jones Ridge Road reported a dispute in which an uninvolved neighbor came over and shot a gun into the air to stop the arguing.

5:11 p.m. — A caller from Lyman Gilmore School reported the theft of a bicycle.

7:10 p.m. — A caller from the hospital reported a woman was being treated for a human bite that occurred Saturday in Penn Valley; she did not want to make a report.

8:03 p.m. — A caller from the 29000 block of Highway 49 reported men in a vehicle, parked in front of the cemetery, talking about ransacking and breaking into residences.

8:53 p.m. — A caller from the 11000 block of North Bloomfield-Graniteville Road reported a physical fight.

9:10 p.m. — A caller from the 18000 block of Gray Oak Drive reported a man was driving drunk; he could not be located.

Wednesday

1:42 p.m. — A caller from Boulder Street reported a stolen Subaru truck. It was located at 8:17 p.m.

2:48 p.m. — A caller from Zion Street reported having an uncooperative shoplifter in custody.

9:09 p.m. — A caller from Monroe Street reported an overturned vehicle. A man was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence.
