Nevada City police chief sworn in

Nevada City’s newest police chief was sworn in at the Nevada City Council meeting Wednesday. Tim Foley, a retired lieutenant with the San Francisco Police Department, took the reins Monday.

Foley has announced two informal “meet and greet” sessions on Feb. 18 and Feb. 19. Foley will talk about his experience and his vision for policing Nevada City.

There will be time for interaction and a general discussion regarding issues and concerns, and light refreshments will be served.

The sessions have been scheduled for 5-6 p.m., Feb 18, and 8-9 a.m., Feb. 19, at council chambers inside City Hall, 317 Broad St. The meetings will be open only to the first 30 people who respond; call Monica at 265-4700 to RSVP.
