24th annual Psychic Fair this weekend

Nevada City’s 24th annual Psychic Fair returns to the Miners Foundry Cultural Center this weekend. With an emphasis on the mind, body and spirit, the Psychic Fair is best known for bringing together an interesting blend of alternative health professionals and metaphysicians in a warm and welcoming environment that also includes readings, lectures, workshops and services.

“It is a great opportunity to have a glimpse around the corner of your own life,” said Marza Miller, who has produced the Psychic Fair for the last seven years. “If you have never attended expect to find a high caliber of skilled people in their respective fields, plus a community-minded event that attracts people who are interested in exchanging ideas and looking at new perspectives in life.”

For people interested in alternative medicine to those curious about the mystical, this year’s Psychic Fair offers attendees an array of new vendors, including psychics, medical intuitives, acupuncturists, massage therapists, herbalists and alchemists. Attendees can also learn about other forms of alternative medicine, such as iridology, a technique that uses the patterns, colors and other characteristics of the human iris to determine information about a patient’s systemic health. Plus there will be an aura photographer on hand to reveal the color of your aura.

The Psychic Fair marketplace also features one-of-a-kind artisan jewelry, clothes and accessories, natural skincare products, gem essences, crystals and much more. Both adults and children can have their faces painted or receive a henna tattoo, and local food vendor Calla Lily Crepes will serve delicious and tasty treats all day.

The Psychic Fair is also a fundraiser for the Miners Foundry Cultural Center. For more than 150 years, the Miners Foundry has been the hub of culture, innovation, creativity, and community in Nevada County. Proceeds from this event go toward the care and preservation of this historic building.
