Family friendly fun for Halloween can be found at the annual Fall Family Festival at Twin Cities Church. The event is located at the couch on the Rough and Ready Hwy. in Grass Valley. The fun begins at 5 p.m. and runs through 8 p.m. on Wednesday. Organizers promote the event as a free, fun and safe place to spend time with your children.
This event has become a family favorite over the past several years. There are lots of good old-fashioned games such as miniature golf and skeet ball and many more. The prizes are, of course, candy and everyone wins! There are a variety of crafts to make in the Craft Zone. Kids can jump to their hearts content in the bounce houses or other large inflatables such as the “Titanic,” the “Obstacle Course,” the “Giant Slide” or the “Fun House!” There is something for everyone like the “Grass Game Zone” for the older kids and a special indoor Baby Play Area for the little ones. There are hayrides, pony rides and, back by popular demand, is the Petting Zoo! Then try your luck at the Cake Walk where you can win homemade cakes and cookies. The star feature last year, hot air balloon rides, will be back this year as well.
While costumes are part of the fun and welcome, they are not mandatory. As families roam around the large outdoor site, enjoy the music while partaking in reasonably priced barbecue cooked by the church’s own Men’s Ministry. This is a carnival atmosphere so of course there will be cotton candy, and popcorn, and more available for a small charge.
Admission is free and there is plenty of parking at Scotten and Lyman Gilmore Schools with a continuously running shuttle. The whole family is welcome at this Fall Family Festival!
