On Saturday, Nevada County’s Power of Twelve will take the stage in Grass Valley in a concert to benefit the Mendocino Tahoe Conservancy.
The 7 p.m. concert at St. Joseph’s Cultural Center will also feature Riparia, the geo-folk duo of Kristen Strohm-Hein and Stephen Hein. Maxima Kahn, visionary local poet and dancer will invoke divinity with recitation. Alden Olmsted will also speak on continuing his father’s legacy.
Mendocino-Tahoe Conservancy,a nonprofit organization founded to continue the work of the late John Olmsted, pioneer conservationist, who envisioned the Cross-California Ecological Corridor, a linked chain of open-space natural sites stretching from the Pacific coast of Mendocino to the eastern Sierra at Lake Tahoe. Proceeds from the benefit will go toward coordinating land acquisition and restoration management planning among the many partner organizations working to complete this dream. http://www.mendotahoe.org/index.html.
