Show to benefit Synthetic Unlimited
November 8, 2012
Member-owned theater company Synthetic Unlimited will host a Day of the Dead Dance Party and Theatrical Showcase fundraiser Friday at the North Columbia Schoolhouse Cultural Center. The company, which promotes itself as Northern California's only member-owned alternative theater group, has staged productions for the past three summers with impassioned modern interpretations of classic plays, including the recent "Antony and Cleopatra."
Synthetic Unlimited is expanding next season to include two full stage productions, a full black box production, six staged readings — and a few other one-nighters that they promise will be a great time for everyone and offer opportunity for new and returning actors.
To accomplish this, they need help and are asking their patrons and the community to come on out to the North Columbia Schoolhouse for Friday's show.
By 7 p.m., members of the company will be on stage for a loose theatrical showcase — performing dramatic and comedic scenes from classic plays, as well as original music, opera, dance and more. DJ JCmusiK will provide a generous donation of dance beats from 9 to 11 p.m.
Find out all the ways to get involved — buy a raffle ticket or even become an official Synthetic Unlimited associate producer— at this one-night event. Costumes strongly encouraged.
Donations will be accepted at the door. North Columbia Schoolhouse Cultural Center is located at 17894 Tyler Foote Road in Nevada City.
