Concert set to benefit SPIRIT Peer Empowerment Center

The SPIRIT Peer Empowerment Center's Summer Benefit Concert series continues Friday with an outdoor performance by Grease, Grit and Grime and opening act Chris Earley.

From 6 to 8 p.m., enjoy a concert on the lawn at the center, 276 Gates Place in Grass Valley. Admission is $8 for adults. Children under 12 are free. There will be food drinks and crafts for sale. Proceeds benefits SPIRIT Peer Empowerment Center, which provides free peer support services to people with mental illness. SPIRIT has been organized and facilitated by mental health peers for 10 years and provides free drop0-in services and crisis counseling daily at the local emergency room.
