Center entices potential members with headliners

The Center for the Arts just announced it will bring more headlining acts to Grass Valley in early 2014. The concerts include guitarist Tommy Emmanuel, Feb. 1, in an intimate concert at the Center's main stage theater, and, at the Grass Valley Veterans Memorial Auditorium in Grass Valley, the Jazz at Lincoln Center Orchestra with Wynton Marsalis on March 7 and Arlo Guthrie on April 11.

The concerts were announced as part of the Center's Fall Membership Drive kick-off. All tickets go on sale to members in the next few weeks.

"All three of these concerts have been among the most requested by Center attendees and are sure to sell very quickly," Center Executive Director Julie Baker said. "October is the perfect month to become a member and get first access to tickets and the best seats."

Tickets for all three concerts go on sale to The Center's Encore Club — those who give $1,000 or more annually — from Oct. 1 through Oct. 6. Center members can purchase advance tickets from Oct. 7 through Oct. 31, with tickets on sale to the general public beginning Nov. 1. Center members can save up to $10 per ticket with member pricing.

"Premier reserved seating in the first 10 rows always sells out first and often even before tickets go on sale to the general public. For many, the tipping point to join the Center is the incentive of a great seat at a show they really want to attend," said Baker.

"We've introduced the Encore Club for our $1,000-plus donors. As a benefit of this level of membership, Encore members receive first access to tickets and opportunities to purchase meet-and-greet tickets, such as the ones we are offering for Arlo Guthrie."
