On Saturday, The Stonehouse and Devils Train Productions are giving the night to the ladies in a female-lead punk rock/alternative concert.
The first act is Dust Bowl Dawn and Stephanie Lee, blending punk rock and acoustic aesthetics. Next up is the introduction of Fuel For Addiction! A local up-and-coming punk band with an exciting and experimental twist.
As the night progresses, local “out-of-this-world” Space Rabies aims to abduct earthly perception and bring the crowd to an intergalactic state of mind through rock and roll.
After that are “hometown horror heroes” The Devils Train. The Nevada County musicians have more than 300 shows under their belt and have no intention to stop.
They perform songs of macabre love of horrific irony and are led by counter-culture pin-up Akasha Hepcat and upright bass “stunt man” Alex Scribner.
Next is the Nevada County icon, S**tzville! Despite the controversy involving the name, Jessi James and Natalie Thompson have been a dedicated, hard-working punk band in this area since 2003. Simple, to the point and in your face! Either you get it or you don’t, organizers say.
Last up is Step Jayne, featuring Electrifying live shows that are almost like the B-52s meet Tom Waits at an acid lounge at Burning Man. Step Jayne bends blending pre-punk with modern experimental and vocal harmonies.
Doors to the femme fatale concert open at 7:30 p.m. at The Stonehouse, 107 Sacramento St. in Nevada City. Patrons must be 21 or older. Tickets are $10 for men, $7 for women.
