The Pioneer Arts Club of Grass Valley will present the 30th annual Northern Mines exhibit and sale now through Nov. 9. There are 40 artists from Northern California participating in this prestigious juried show, providing an opportunity for local residents to see a collection of original works of fine art and photography.
The community will have a chance to meet the artists at the reception from 1 to 3 p.m. Sunday hosted at the Center for the Arts. The award winners will be recognized at that time.
Margo Schulzke juried this show. Schulzke is a PSWC Hall of Fame Laureate, signature member of the Pastel Society of America, distinguished pastelist, Pastel Society of the West Coast, and author of “A Painter’s Guide to Design and Composition,” North Light books 2006. Schulzke’s name and her work are well known from coast to coast.
Pioneer Arts Club Inc., founded in 1965, is a nonprofit association that works to promote the visual arts in western Nevada County. The club provides a friendly meeting place for artists and photographers of all skill levels and others who are interested in the visual arts.
Activities are designed to inspire and encourage members and guests in their artistic pursuits as well as to encourage community service in the arts.
