2-day memorial concert benefits Sammie’s Friends

There will be a two-day music and art benefit for Sammie’s Friends Friday and Saturday in Nevada City. The Derek Show is presented in memory of Derek Sorensen, who passed away earlier this summer.

On Friday, beginning at 8 p.m., attendees will hear performances by Aaron Ross, Ghost Pines, Chris French and Briana. On Saturday, Deity, Johnny Arson and The Epics, Francis Crowe, Loose Cannon and Mariachi will perform.

The benefit will be located at 224 Church St. in Nevada City. There isn’t a ticket price, but organizers are asking people to donate what they can at the door. Proceeds will be given to Sammie’s Friends, a cause that was dear to Sorensen.
