Assault victim found in field on North San Juan ridge

An unidentified man was found by emergency responders face-down in a field near the intersection of Old Mill Road and Jack Ass Flats Road.

The man was believed to be the victim of an assault, suffering severe injuries, according to a news release issued by the North San Juan Fire District.

The severity of the injuries necessitated aerial transport to Sutter Roseville, the release states.

Cal Fire emergency responders collaborated with North San Juan to provide the patient care en route to the field of Grizzly Hill School, where the helicopter landed.

The Nevada County Sheriff’s Office is investigation the incident, the release states.
