Art for Life, a spring garden party that partners art, a beautifully landscaped native setting, food and wine to benefit people with HIV/AIDS, will be Saturday in Grass Valley.
The annual fundraiser is hosted by Brad Carter and Fred Hodgson at their home.
“Our basic concept was to have an art auction set in the garden at peak bloom with lots of fun entertainment options like local wines, delicious appetizers served by friendly volunteers, live music and garden tours,” they said.
All the monies raised from the event go to HALO (HIV/AIDS Local Outreach), a collaborative project of CARE Services and Unity in the Gold Country Spiritual Center. HALO was launched in 2010 to address gaps in funding and to help meet the urgent needs of individuals and their families living with HIV/AIDS.
This event is a success largely due to the many volunteers and donors who contribute to this event. Dozens of local artists, many associated with Art Works Gallery in downtown Grass Valley, donate their work for silent auction.
This year, Montoliva Vineyard & Winery owners Mark and Julianne Henry plan to donate three cases of their locally grown wines and will volunteer at the wine bar where they will pour their varietals and share stories about their vineyard.
Carter and Hodgson invite the public to join them for the third annual Art for Life – A Spring Garden Party and Art Auction at their home in Grass Valley from 1 to 5 p.m. Saturday. The cost of admission to Art for Life is $50 per person.
All funds raised will be used provide essential services for people living with HIV/AIDS in Nevada County. For reservations to attend this event or more information on how to support this event, call Fred Hodgson at 530-272-8900.
