An evening in Tuscany

The North San Juan Senior Center’s spring fundraiser will be An Evening in Tuscany, at 6 p.m. April 20.

Guest chefs Linda Metcalf and Jerry Nurse of L&J catering are sharpening their considerable skills for this event. The organic menu includes savory chicken or tofu marsala, cheese baked polenta, salad, dessert, and wine. Other drink selections are available.

Soft lighting, Jim Bratt on the guitar, limited seating, and the succulent aromas wafting from the kitchen, and you too could be transported to Tuscany. Tickets for this fundraiser are $25 and available at Mother Trucker’s, and the Ridge Stop Café, and through senior center members. Call 530-277-0169 for information or for tickets.

This week on Episode 7 of The Food and Farm Show travels to Penn Valley and Anything Green Hydroponics to record their workshop on Propagation.

They also take you back to the End of the Road Farm to meet the Eaton family and learn all about growing micro-greens, then it’s part two of Backyard Chickens with the Chicken Lady Janey Powers and finally Cheryl Noble chats with Ross Tessien a aquaponic designer who has launched a Kick Starter effort to create a commercial aquaponic farm in South Nevada County.
