A big rig with a box trailer half-loaded with furniture overturned on Highway 49 just before noon, blocking one lane of traffic for more than an hour.

The truck overturned in the southbound lane near Cherry Creek Road at about 11:35 a.m., according to the California Highway Patrol website.

One-way traffic controls were initiated and southbound and northbound traffic were being directed alternately through the scene. The roadway was cleared by 12:45 p.m.
