In January 2013, Cohn performed at the Center’s main stage theater and return again in July of that year with Mary Chapin Carpenter for a concert at the Grass Valley Veteran’s Memorial Building.
Perhaps best known for his song, “Walking in Memphis,” Cohn has recorded seven albums and won a Grammy Award.
A natural storyteller, Cohn’s career took off with the release of his self-titled debut album in 1991.
His album, “Listening Booth: 1970,” is a collection of covers from 1970, what he considers the golden age of singer-songwriters. The album features vocal performances from India.Arie, Jim Lauderdale, Aimee Mann, and Kristina Train.
In March, Cohn contributed a track to the recently released tribute album for Jackson Browne. Other artists on this beautiful record include Bruce Springsteen, Don Henley, Bonnie Raitt, Shawn Colvin, Bruce Hornsby and Lyle Lovett.
Tickets to the 8 p.m. show are $45 members of the Center, $50 for the general public and are at the Center’s Box Office in person, by phone at 530-274-8384 ext. 14, online at www.thecenterforthearts.org or at BriarPatch Co-op.
