Update: 1:40 p.m.
Officer Greg Tassone, a public information officer with the California Highway Patrol, has confirmed that there were three separate incidents along Highway 49 today -- and one of them resulted in a serious medical call.
It is unclear at this time, however, if that call was due to an injury sustained in the collision or an existing medical condition.
Tassone says the full report may not be available until tomorrow morning.
The California Highway Patrol’s incident reporting page currently indicates that there are at least two hazards on Highway 49/20 near the Brunswick Avenue exit and Dorsey Drive.
CHP spokesman Greg Tassone says that details are still emerging and one of the three reports currently in the system may be a duplicate -- but more information will be available shortly.
One incident apparently took place on the northbound side of the freeway. Reports indicate that two vehicles were in the roadway. Injuries have been reported, although the severity of those injuries has yet to be determined.
As of 12:50 p.m., Tassone said that first responders were en route.
Another incident on the southbound side of the freeway apparently involves a white utility pickup truck gathering up miscellaneous debris from the roadway.
There may also be a third incident, though that could not be confirmed at this time.
“In any case, people need to drive slow until get this cleared up,” Tassone said.
