Culbertson featured in reading, signing for new novel Saturday

Local author Kim Culbertson will premiere her latest young adult novel “Catch a Falling Star” from 5 to 7 p.m. Saturday at Forest Charter School Auditorium.

In Culbertson’s new novel, Carter Moon (a somewhat reclusive teen) is expecting to spend a quiet summer working in her parents’ restaurant and hanging out with her best friends.

But when a Hollywood company invades her sleepy California town, her plans undergo a sudden transformation, and Carter finds herself playing an unexpected part in it all.

“Catch a Falling Star,” is published through Scholastic.

At Saturday’s event, there will be a raffle, refreshments, and more.

Culbertson will be reading from her new book, answering attendees’ questions, and signing copies of her books.

Forest Charter School Auditorium is located at 470 Searls Ave., in Nevada City.

Along with her release, The Book Seller, who has “Catch a Falling Star” in stock, will celebrate California Bookstore Day Saturday.

The free community event will feature exclusive limited- edition, signed books and artwork from writers and artists who want to commemorate the occasion.

There will be refreshments, activities, and drawings for prizes.

The Book Seller is at 107 Mill St. For more information, go to
