Let's say I'm CEO of a corporation that supplies the government with military materials or services - guns, helicopters, ordinance or housing and meals. I have a duty to my shareholders to create profit. Whether my product is effective or not isn't as important as assuring a continuing demand for it.If my product gets destroyed, fine, since the government will need to buy replacements from me.
