The Sierra College Nevada County Campus invites the community to join in the celebration of Earth Day. The campus will be a buzz with all things green.
Environmental, humanitarian and educational exhibits will be provided by local businesses and nonprofit organizations. Live music, poetry readings, and dance will entertain and educate all those who join in this fun and free celebration of our planet Earth.
The Sierra College District has faithfully celebrated Earth Day each year since its official worldwide inauguration in April of 1970.
Visitors are encouraged to consider walking, riding a bike, riding the bus or carpooling to the event to help us reduce carbon emissions and save the $2 parking fee.
Use that money instead towards the purchase of some delicious and healthy food options that will be available, like Calla Lily Crepes, and Lazy Dog Ice Cream.
Informational booths include: A.P.P.L.E. (Association for a Post Petroleum Local Economy), Bear-Yuba Land Trust, Animal Rescue Ranch, Audubon Society, Health Care for All, NEO Organization, United Nations Association, Sun Wall Solar, The Solar Kitchen, Peace Center of Nevada City, SYRCL (South Yuba River Citizens League) and more.
