'The Teahouse of the August Moon' opens this weekend

Community Asian Theatre (CATS) opens its 18th season today with a first. The 2012 production of "The Teahouse of the August Moon" is the first comedy the nonprofit cultural organization has chosen in nearly two decades of theatrical performances. "The Teahouse of the August Moon" is directed by Diane Fetterly and based on John Patrick's adaptation of a 1951 novel by Vern Sneider. "Teahouse" tells a story about the American military occupation of Okinawa shortly following World War II. Okinawa is a stretch of islands located in the most southwestern part of Japan.
