The Grass Valley Wine Co. will host a benefit for Tresa Honaker of AirAligned from 5 to 9 p.m. this Friday. Entertainment will be donated by the legendary local group, Travis & Blue Company. Wines by the glass and bottle along with light appetizers and special Chocolate & Red Wine flights will be available during the show. The Wine Co. will donate 25 percent of the night's profits in addition to all cover charges collected at the door.

Honaker fell 15 feet while practicing her aerial work Jan. 11, which caused permanent injury to her spinal cord. Although paralyzed from the waist down, Honaker hopes to continue her work teaching dance and aerial, choreographing and cutting hair. This may take some time and she will need financial support for ongoing medical expenses. Honaker was a founding member of The Movement Alliance Modern Dance Company and founder and current director of AirAligned aerial dance group. Honaker's is a contributing member of The Center for the Arts in Grass Valley and has been instrumental in the growth of children's performance workshops held at The Center for the Arts.
