Katherine (Kati) McBurney of Cedar Ridge passed away on Jan. 31, 2012, in Grass Valley. She was 55.
Per her request, there will be no services.
Kati was born on July 21, 1956, in Los Angeles to Paul Mathieson and Rita Doll. She received her associate's degree from Sierra College.
Kati married Bob McBurney on Jan. 5, 1987, in South Lake Tahoe, Nev. She was a waitress at Denny's from 1974 to 1984 and at other restaurants until 1998. She was also co-owner of the McBurney Tree Farm.
She enjoyed collecting stuff and lots of it. Kati loved to make people laugh; feed the hummingbirds; do mosaic tiles; drive around in her car, visit with her BFF, Sharon “Charlie” Ramirez; goof around with her favorite niece, Jessica Stafford; and especially greet people at the tree farm.
Kati had an absolute heart of gold and is certainly going to be missed by all. May the spirit in the sky do well by her, she deserves it.
She is survived by her husband, Bob McBurney of Cedar Ridge; sisters, Jewel Mathieson of Sonoma, Mari Stille of Sioux City, Iowa, and Joni Troutman of Joliet, Mont.
Memorial contributions may be sent to Hospice.
Arrangements are in the care of Chapel of the Angels Mortuary in Grass Valley.
