Ruth Erdmann was 90 years young when she passed away on Wednesday, Feb. 1, 2012, while being cared for and comforted by the wonderful staff at Hospice of the Foothills, Compassionate Care Home in Grass Valley.
She was born Feb. 19, 1921, in Jackson, Mich.
A celebration of her life will be held 2 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 12, 2012, at the Grass Valley Moose Lodge, 15694 Allison Ranch Road, Grass Valley.
She married Glen Erdmann on Nov. 16, 1963. They spent 48 years by each other's side. They enjoyed fishing, camping and being with friends of which there were too many to count!
She, in recent years, enjoyed the Grass Valley Moose Lodge and being a member of the Women of the Moose, Chapter 1767. She held the office of Chaplain numerous years and did that job with caring and compassion. She also waited tables at the Lodge for Sunday breakfasts. If there was any function where help was required, she was the first to volunteer.
She is survived by her husband, Glen; daughters, Carol (Bob), Donna (Jerry); grandchildren, Kurt, Stacy, Nicky, Crystal and Jennifer and their spouses; and 9 great-children. In addition to her biological off-spring, she is also survived by children, grandchildren and great-children that were a benefit of combined families. She also has several nieces and nephews who survive her.
